Search Queries
A query entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that supplies that tool. The partner processes the terms and returns its response. Dallas County Criminal History does not keep a local log of names or places entered into those fields.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor emails us, the message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal web-server and analytics records may collect technical details when a page loads, including:
- the device's internet protocol address
- browser name, version, device type, and operating system
- pages viewed, visit length, and page-view times
- the referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files and analytics tools help measure traffic, page use, and general performance. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, although some functions may then behave differently. Analytics are used to understand grouped visit patterns rather than to build Dallas County criminal-record profiles.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Dallas County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It publishes directions to the Dallas County Sheriff, Dallas County Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS, Missouri Department of Corrections, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that company's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Review the partner's terms before sending a query because this policy does not control its systems.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Missouri agencies, Dallas County offices, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Advertising providers may also use their own technology to measure activity across websites; that processing occurs on their systems.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- the search partner that receives a query
- analytics and advertising providers supporting site operations
- government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for data under our control. No internet system is completely secure, however, so uninterrupted protection or the absence of every possible breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, it may be removed after notice.
Your Data Rights
Missouri consumer protection includes the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, Chapter 407, RSMo. The Missouri Sunshine Law governs access to government records, and RSMo ยง610.100 addresses incident and arrest records; neither turns visitor data held by this private website into a government record. Rights can also depend on the visitor's residence and the law that applies there. A visitor may ask to:
- review personal data held about that visitor
- correct inaccurate information
- delete information when the law permits
- opt out of eligible types of processing
